Frequently Asked Questions
Is professional teeth whitening safe?

Yes! When done properly and with high quality food grade hydrogen peroxide, that my products contain, it's safe to whiten your teeth as often as you'd like.

Can I whiten my teeth if I have sensitive teeth?

Absolutely! The products I use don't have preservatives, ensuring the best whitening results and preventing severe sensitivity. You can also add on a desensitizing treatment for $25 to help.

Can I whiten my teeth if I have crowns, veneers, or bonding?

Yes, the non-abrasive formula of my products won't damage existing dental work. Crowns and veneers can accumulate staining over time and respond well to whitening to bring them back to their original color.

How long does a whitening session take?

90 minutes. Doing three 20-minute sessions under the LED light consecutively gives you the maximum results. If not, you will only remove staining from the enamel, not the intrinsic staining beneath the enamel.

How long do whitening results last?

Results can vary depending on your oral hygiene and lifestyle choices. Regular touchups every 6 to 12 months can help maintain that bright smile!

What should I do before my whitening appointment?

For a smooth session, refrain from brushing your teeth within four hours of your appointment. This helps keep sensitivity low and avoid gum abrasion before treatment. Feel free to eat and drink like normal, and if you're worried about freshness, just brush your toungue and swish with water.

What should I do after my whitening appointment?

After your appointment, I'll apply an enamel sealer to help temporarily protect your teeth. Thanks to this step, you can eat and drink normally as soon as you leave! To keep your smile bright for aslong as possible, try to limit foods and drinks that are known to stain teeth-like coffee, tea, red wine, and dark sauces.

Why should I choose professional teeth whitening over over-the-counter options?

Professional whitening gives you brighter, faster, longer-lasting, and safer results, while over-the-counter products take longer to work and can cause enamel wear, gum irritation, and sensitivity when used too often.

What makes Brighter Shades Ahead different?

I apply an enamel sealer at the end of each whitening session. Applying an enamel sealer temporarily seals teeth, which allows you to eat and drink directly after whitening. This protective barrier also helps maintain whitening results, making it the perfect final step for a brighter smile!
